Texas Rangers Issue Apology After Woman Says Fan Harrassed Her Family

The Texas Rangers organization issued an apology after a Hispanic woman claimed that she and her family were harassed at a game because of their race. The woman, Jessica Romero, wrote on Facebook that a fan sitting directly behind her family during Saturday’s game made repeated comments about Hispanic immigrants, complaining about “all the illegal immigrants that were surrounding him at the game” and how “(President) Trump needs to hurry and build the wall and send all these illegals back.” The fan also made an obscene gesture while the family was taking a picture.

In a statement, the Rangers said they were “truly sorry that this family was subjected to this offensive behavior.”  The team added: “there is no place at Globe Life Park in Arlington for this type of conduct to occur. After learning of this incident on Sunday, we have reached out to the Romero family and pledge to make their next trip to Globe Life Park a memorable and enjoyable experience.”
